Meet Melanie Knowles
Founder of Raven Naturally Local
Born and raised in the small town of Folsom, New Jersey, Melanie Knowles grew up surrounded by nature, family, and a strong sense of community. Whether she was exploring the woods, swimming in local lakes, or enjoying the Jersey Shore with her family, her love for the natural world began early and deeply shaped her path.
Her upbringing instilled strong values—her mother emphasized the importance of nutrition and exercise, while her father, a model maker with a gift for creativity and craftsmanship, passed on not only his practical skills in woodworking and design but also the joy of music, laughter,
and living with grace.
Over the years, Melanie’s journey has been rich with experience. As a mother of two boys and a lifelong learner, she developed a wide-ranging skill set that spans model making, sculpture, painting, graphic design, CAD and 3D design, animation, video production, marketing, and project management. She’s not only led creative projects—she’s been hands-on at every level.
Eventually, a vision began to take shape—one that would combine all her passions, talents, and purpose. Rooted in a belief in the mind-body-spirit connection and fueled by a desire to support others, Melanie founded Raven Naturally Local. Her mission: to empower local businesses offering natural goods and wellness services, while helping build stronger, healthier communities.
Melanie brings heart, creativity, and a deep sense of purpose to everything she does—and Raven Naturally Local is a reflection of that spirit.
